Game Theoretic Approach for Elastic and Inelastic Demand Management in Microgrid

Smart grid, which consists of many small microgrids, leads to a more stable and secure grid. In this paper, we proposed a game theoretic approach using a novel combinational pricing signal for the demand side management in a microgrid. We classified the appliance in a smart grid into appliance with elastic energy demand and appliance with inelastic appliance. We use game-theoretic approach to analyze the interaction between the microgrid operator and end users as well as among end users themself. We formulate the problem as a single leader, multiple followers Stackelberg game. An unique StackelbergNash equilibrium is derived under two-fold pricing at first and then extended to case of uniform pricing scheme.
